City of Peru
residents and property owners may obtain a free library card at the
library's circulation desk.

Bring a current form of identification showing
your Peru address. You can check out items the same day you apply, but it
will take approximately 10 days for your card to be processed at which time
you will need to pick up your card at the circulation desk.

Children who don’t have a library card must
have a parent or guardian with them when they apply in order to show name and
current address.

Residents living
outside of Peru need to acquire a library card from their home library. Peru
will honor these cards.

Residents living
outside of Peru who do not have a home library may qualify for a card at
the Peru library if Peru library is the closest public library to the
patron's principal residence within the school district in which the patron
lives.

Your library card
will be honored at all of the participating Prairie Area Library System
libraries.
