Computers
|
|
Computers with Internet
access and Word Processing are available to the public
at no charge. The library has six workstations that contain
Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Front
Page, Access, Excel, Photo Draw, Publisher, & Encarta.
Children under 18 will need to sign a short registration form at the Adult
Circulation Desk before using the computers. Children under
18 must have a parent's signature allowing them to use the
library's computers. One hour time slots are allotted. Printers
are available at every workstation. Prints are 20 cents per
page. A color printer is also available for 50 cents per
half page and $1.00 for a full page.

Computer Instruction
|
|
Individual basic computer
instruction is available Thursday from 1:00 - 1:30 p.m. &
1:30 - 2:00 p.m.,
Friday 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. & 10:30 - 11:00 a.m. These
sessions can include instruction in using the library's
catalog, databases, and software, email, and searching the
Web. You can make an appointment at the adult services
circulation desk or by calling the library.

Fax
|
|
The library's fax machine is
located in the adult services area of the library. Stop at
the circulation desk to see how to send or receive your fax.

To send a fax in the United
States:

$2.00 for the first page and
$1.00 for every page thereafter

To receive a fax Foreign or
United States:
|
|
$1.00 for the first page and
50 cents for every page thereafter
|
|
|
|
Laminating
|
|
Items can be laminated at the
library on Wednesday evenings between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. You
may also leave your items at the library to be laminated and
picked up at your convenience. The library asks 50 cents a
running foot and items may not exceed 36 inches.

|
Local History Room
|
|
The Local History Room is
open to the public every Wednesday evening between 5:00
& 8:00 p.m. or by
appointment.
|
|
City & telephone directories, LP &
St. Bede high school yearbooks, cemetery records, and much
more can be found in the Local History Room.
|
|
|
Microfilm
& Fiche Reader Printer
|
|
The
Microfilm & Fiche Reader Printer is available to the
public during regular library hours. The library stores the
Daily News Tribune on microfilm from 1906, U.S. Census
LaSalle County 1830- 1880 and 1900- 1930, and John Barron
Columns January 1970 - June 1982. Copies are 10 cents. You
can make a reservation at the adult services circulation
desk or by calling the library.

"More Than
Books" Sale Room
|
|
The Peru Library has a wide
variety of nearly new hardbound and paperback books,
magazines, and other materials. The Book Sale Room is open
Monday & Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday
& Thursday 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Friday 12:00 p.m. -
5:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Photocopiers
|
|
Two coin
operated photocopiers are available for public use and
are located near the circulation desk in the adult services
department. Color copies are $1.00 per page. Black and white
copies are 15 cents per page.

Scanner & Digital
Photo Printer
|
|
Scan, print or email your
documents or photos, print photos directly from your camera
memory card. For high quality photos, remember to bring your
own photo paper. All Color prints are 50 cents per page.

|
|
Slide
Projector
|
|
A
slide projector and screen are available for loan for a
three day period.
|
|
|
Typewriter
|
|
A typewriter is available to
the public free of charge and is located in the adult
services area of the library. Be sure to bring your own
paper. Call to check on availability.
