Peru Public Library ADOPT-A-BOOK PROGRAM is a wonderful way to honor or remember someone special in your life by giving a gift that can be opened again and again! Anniversaries, birthdays, graduations, gifts for the teacher, remembrance of a friend, loved one, or special occasions are perfect reasons for adopting a book. With your Adopt-A-Book donation of $15.00 for a children's book, or $25.00 for an adult book, the library will purchase a book for the collection and include a book plate, indicating both the name of the donor and the honoree. You can even designate what kind of book you would like to donate! For example, if you would like to make a memorial to a family member who loved to garden, the library will purchase a gardening book. If you want to honor the birth of a child, we will buy a children's book. We would be happy to give you a price quote if you would like a specific title purchased for the library with your donation.

The Peru Public Library invites you to Share Your Love of Reading! The cost of magazines continues to rise and the library is faced with the difficult challenge of maintaining our very popular magazine collection in the face of budget cuts. Many of our magazine subscriptions are in immediate danger of cancellation unless they are adopted.

Adopt-A-Magazine is a unique way to support the library as well as honor a friend, relative, community organization, business, or yourself! For the cost of a year's subscription, you can sponsor a magazine. Your generosity will be rewarded with a nameplate on the front cover of the publication. Your tax-deductible donation in cash or check is payable directly to the Peru Public Library and may be renewed annually if you wish.

How do I adopt a magazine?
Adoption is easy! Simply select a magazine or magazines from the list and complete the adoption form. Adoption forms can be mailed or hand delivered tot he Peru Public Library, along with your contribution. Magazines may also be adopted by phone by calling 815-223-0229.

What if someone else has already adopted the magazine I want to select?
When completing your adoption form, include alternate choices on the chance that your first selection is already adopted. Staff will regularly update the adoption list on the library's web site.

Can I make partial donations towards a subscription cost?
Yes! Partial donations are gratefully accepted.

Can I adopt a magazine not listed on this brochure?
The library always welcomes suggestions for purchase. Please contact us if you are interested in donating a specific title. All donations added are subject to review by the collection development staff.

What if I wish to donate anonymously?
We respect your right to privacy. Your donation will remain confidential upon request.
