Youth Study Group:
This program offers school-agers a chance to familiarize themselves with the library and all it has to offer! For grades K-8, from any school in the area, the Youth Study Group meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 3-5 PM in the Youth Library during the school year.
*Due to library policy, students K-2 must be accompanied by an adult.*
Brick Builders:
Come for an evening of brick building with Lego’s on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Youth Library at 6pm during the school year.
Builders 5-12 years enjoy themed building challenges each session or can build their own designs. Kids build from 6-6:45 pm and each builder can present their design to the club members beginning at 6:45 pm.
Lego bricks are provided. Please do not bring Lego bricks or figures from home. Lego designs remain on display for at least 1 week. No registration necessary, walk-ins welcome.
Le Leche League:
This free monthly Breastfeeding and Information Support Group welcomes pregnant mothers, babies, and toddlers. While at the library, check out the resources for young children. The group meets in the lower-level meeting room at the library. The monthly date varies, interested individuals may contact Samantha Whiteaker at 309-258-9262 | [email protected] | or FB Le Leche League of the Illinois Valley for the date of each monthly meeting.
Doggie Tales:
Do you have a child who is a hesitant reader? Consider signing them up for Doggie Tales, where Ms. Julie and her therapy dogs become the perfect listeners! Children each get a chance to read a predetermined book to the dogs, and Ms. Julie is more than happy to share her own story.
Registration is required, as well as having your book picked out prior to each session. For ages 3 and up. Contact the library for the current schedule.
