Doggie Tales

Doggie Tales is back!

Reading to a therapy dog is a great way for a child to practice reading.  The library is visited by certified therapy dogs Ruby & Lila. Our therapy dogs don’t mind when words are sounded out, skipped over, or misspoken. They just love hearing children read!

Children 3 -12 years read for 5-10 minutes. Pre-readers can tell a story from the pictures. Children choose their book but and will have the most fun reading a familiar book.  Registration is required. For more information or to sign up, call (815) 223-0229 x 214.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please note: The library reminds our patrons and guests masks are optional and social distancing may not be possible during our community events, classes and programs.  Patrons or guests exhibiting signs or symptoms of possible illness are kindly requested to refrain from attendance at in-person programs, events or classes until their signs or symptoms are gone. The library reserves the right to cancel Doggie Tales due to lack of registrations.
