    We film & take photos and set up gaming & audio visual equipment at teen library events. We also assist with the library’s teen facebook page, help create flyers, and create skits for promotional library videos. Snacks are always provided.
    We meet twice a month on Mondays in the library meeting room from 3:30 – 4:45. New members are always welcome.

    Get Your Game On! We’ve got XBox 360, PS2, PS3, Wii, 5 Gaming Screens, 10 PCs for Interactive Game Play, Board Games, Super Smash Bros, Just Dance, DDR, Guitar Hero. Bring a teen rated game, we’ll play it! Teen Game Night is held on the 1st Friday of every month, is open to ages 12-18, and is a free program.

    Miss coloring? Listen to your inner child and relax. Drop by between 10 and 12 for coloring, coffee and companionship the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month. Coffee, coloring sheets, and colored pens and pencils will be provided. Color Me Calm is held in the library's meeting room on the lower level. This program is for adults only.

    We meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 3:30 in the library meeting room and talk about plenty of books. We choose one (sometimes two) for the book of the month. Snacks are always provided and new members are always welcome.

  • Daycation - Morton Arboretum

    Join Mike Watts for a trip through the world-famous Morton Arboretum. This trip includes a guided Acorn express tram tour through the 1700 acre working arboretum along with lunch at the visitors center.

    Lunch is followed by a stroll through the gardens around the visitor center, featuring the Origami in the Garden art exhibit. The Garden's art sale is happening while we are there. Find new and unique items to enhance your yard and garden. By the way, the lawn furniture won't fit in the van - sorry!

    Cost is $43.00

  • Anime Manga Appreciation Club

    The Teen Anime Manga Club meets at 3:30 on the 2nd Friday of the month in the lower level of the library. We discuss everything otaku, share original mangas, watch new anime, play Yu-Gi-Oh & Pokemon, & help plan the Peru Library annual Animinicon. New members are always welcome.

    Recess: School's Out. Tick Tock! Countdown to summer has begun with this 2001 Disney animated comedy. Children not yet completed 2nd grade must be accompanied by an adult. Families may bring a snack to enjoy. Movie begins promptly at 6:00pm with an hour and 24 minutes running time. Registration for this free movie is appreciated and may be made by calling 815-223-0229 ext. 5.

    TAG Members:
    Encourage teen involvement in the library
    Promote and encourage reading by teens
    Take a leadership role in the planning and hosting of teen programs, services, and events
    Advise the library on teen interests and trends
    Help library staff choose books teens will need for homework and for enjoyment

    The Peru Library TAG meets on the last Friday of the month at 3:30. Snacks are provided.
