    Miss coloring? Listen to your inner child and relax. Drop by between 10 and 12 for coloring, coffee and companionship the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month. Coffee, coloring sheets, and colored pens and pencils will be provided. Color Me Calm is held in the library's meeting room on the lower level. This program is for adults only.

    Led by Ms. Lynn and Ms. Meridith, this free class offers stories, songs, finger-plays and music & rhythm activities for babies and children not yet in Kindergarten. All activities
    are carefully selected and adaptable for enjoyment by all ages. Play and learn activities including dramatic play and art follow after each class.

    Families with babies should bring a small blanket to lay baby on for some activities and infant toys are available for play time.

    Registration is requested and made by calling 815-223-0229 ext. 5. Drop-in's are welcome and families may come and go as needed.

    A free and fun interactive class for children 1-3 years old. Caregivers and children join in the fun of music and movement combined with the use of shakers, bells, scarves and more. Each class is themed around a short story. Art and make and take crafts along with sensory, dramatic and other play and learn activities follow each session. Older and younger siblings are welcome to attend. Enjoy the flexibility of coming when you can and we understand when families cannot attend.

While we do our best to be sure everyone can enjoy the full experience, we cannot guarantee availability of activities and treats after 3:45 pm.

    Children with food allergies may bring their own light snack to enjoy.

    Encourage teen involvement in the library
    Promote and encourage reading by teens
    Take a leadership role in the planning and hosting of teen programs, services, and events
    Advise the library on teen interests and trends
    Help library staff choose books teens will need for homework and for enjoyment

    The Peru Library TAG meets on the last Friday of the month at 3:30. Snacks are provided.

  • Game On 17 & Up

    Get your game on! Anyone over the age of 17 is welcome to join us and use any of the available gaming consoles (Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U, Playstations) the library has to offer as well as any of the games (any rating tonight!). You can also use any of the 10 PCs we have for interactive games or use our tables for classic board and card games with your friends! Participants are welcome to bring their own games to play in addition to the games offered by the library.

    Kids practice reading out loud to Ms. Pam's certified therapy dog. She loves to hear kids read out loud to her and to help kids gain confidence in reading. Kids read to Ms. Pam's therapy dog for 5-10 minutes and must be accompanied by an adult.

    Come for an evening of brick building with Lego's®. There is no fee to be in this club. Builders 5-12 years enjoy themed building challenges each session or can build their own designs. Stay a little longer and present your design to the club members. Lego® bricks are provided. Please do not bring Lego® bricks or figures from home. Lego designs remain on display for at least 1 week.
