    Recess: School's Out. Tick Tock! Countdown to summer has begun with this 2001 Disney animated comedy. Children not yet completed 2nd grade must be accompanied by an adult. Families may bring a snack to enjoy. Movie begins promptly at 6:00pm with an hour and 24 minutes running time.     Get Your Game On! We’ve got XBox 360, PS2, PS3, Wii, 5 Gaming Screens, 10 PCs for Interactive Game Play, Board Games, Super Smash Bros, Just Dance, DDR, Guitar Hero. Bring a teen rated game, we’ll play it! Teen Game Night is held on the 1st Friday of every month, is open to ages 12-18, and is a free program.

  • Daycation - Fine Line Arts Festival

    June 3, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 5:30 pm

    The Fine Line, a non-profit art center located in St. Charles, Illinois started by nuns to preserve and promote the art of weaving, has expanded to include many forms of decorative art. On this trip you will glaze and fire your own raku pot along with getting hands on experience with other art forms. There will be artists demonstrating their craft along with a market. Lunch is included but will be later than usual in downtown St Charles. Snacks are available at the festival to hold you over. Cost $48 per person.

    Come by the library for our comic books and graphic novels sale. We mainly have Marvel comics with some DC comics. The comic books are from the 1990's and 2000's. Everything sold as is. Graphic novels for $3.00 and comic books $1.00 per issue.

    Proceeds support the library's graphic novel and comic book collections.

    Take a field trip to the Cedar Point Sportsman’s Club for metal detecting basics. You will learn hands-on metal detecting and try to find something for yourself! Food will be provided. Must be accompanied by an adult. Hosted in conjunction with Cedar Point Sportsman’s Club and Illinois Valley Historical Research and Recovery Association. Transportation to Sportsman’s Club must be provided and kids must be accompanied by an adult during the event. Space is limited and registration must be made by calling 815-223-0229 ext. 5.

  • Camp Create

    For children ages 9-12. Fantasy books will be explored and based on the book, The Imaginary Garden by Andrew Larsen, kids will create an indoor fantasy kingdom. Kids will use paints and other art supplies so dress appropriately for messy art. Some materials will be provided and a suggested list of supplies to bring will be available at registration.

    Limited to 10 children. Children registered are expected to participate both Monday, June 19th and Monday, June 26th. Registration is required and may be made by calling (815) 223-0229 x 5.

  • Tech Savvy Teens

    We film & take photos and set up gaming & audio visual equipment at teen library events. We also assist with the library’s teen facebook page, help create flyers, and create skits for promotional library videos. Snacks are always provided.
    We meet twice a month on Mondays in the library meeting room from 3:30 – 4:45. New members are always welcome.
