    Area libraries provide Food for Fines the weeks of November 5th through 17th. Bring non-perishable food to have your fines forgiven. Each food item reduces your fine by $1.00, up to $25.00.

    The Peru Library is a host site for National Novel Writing Month. Every Saturday during November, drop in to meet up with other writers also participating in NaNoWriMo and keep working toward that 50,000 word goal. The library has free coffee, tea, and wi-fi, as well as public computers for use with a library card. Prefer to write alone? We have three study rooms available for use.

    Led by Ms. Lynn and Ms. Meridith, this free class offers stories, songs, finger-plays and music & rhythm activities for babies and children not yet in Kindergarten. All activities
    are carefully selected and adaptable for enjoyment by all ages. Play and learn activities including dramatic play and art follow after each class.

    Families with babies should bring a small blanket to lay baby on for some activities and infant toys are available for play time.

    Registration is requested and made by calling 815-223-0229 ext. 5. Drop-in's are welcome and families may come and go as needed.

    We film & take photos and set up gaming & audio visual equipment at teen library events. We also assist with the library’s teen facebook page, help create flyers, and create skits for promotional library videos. Snacks are always provided. We meet twice a month on Mondays in the library meeting room from 3:30 – 4:45. New members are always welcome.

Coffee, coloring sheets, and colored pens and pencils will be provided. Color Me Calm is held in the library's meeting room on the lower level. This program is for adults only.

  • Brick Builder's Club for Children 5-12 years

    November 28, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

    Brick Builder's Club is open to children 5 - 12 years of age. Lego's® are provided and are not to be brought from home. Participation is free. Themed building challenges offered but not required. Please preregister by calling 815-223-0229.

    The library understands that younger siblings may accompany the older child to the library. Younger siblings old enough to safely play with these small bricks may "participate" in the club providing their behaviors are not disruptive to the group.

    For younger children in the library, larger building bricks are available in King Author's Castle within Youth Services.

Older and younger siblings are welcome to attend. Enjoy the flexibility of coming when you can and we understand when families cannot attend.
