Coffee, coloring sheets, and colored pens and pencils will be provided. Color Me Calm is held in the library's meeting room on the lower level. This program is for adults only.

    We’ll put a spell on you with this Halloween themed double feature! Families may bring a snack to enjoy during the movies. Registration may be made by calling 815-223-0229 ext. 5. Children who have not yet completed 2nd grade must be accompanied by an adult. Hocus Pocus begins promptly at 1:00pm and after a short intermission, Goosebumps will begin promptly at 3:00pm.

    Help your child gain confidence in reading by reading to Ruby, a certified therapy dog. Kids read to Ruby for 5-10 minutes. Non-readers may also participate by telling Ruby a story from pictures.   • Drones 101: the sky's the limit

    October 14, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

    Dean Poignant explains all things drone with a two hour session getting started with drones; purchasing an unmanned aerial vehicle; federal, local, and state regulations; safety; photography; plus, a question and answer session. Weather and local flight regulations permitting, Dean provides a flying demonstration and, participants may try out flying a drone and taking a “self portrait” of themselves with a drone!

    All ages are welcome to Drones 101 with Dean Poignant, a commercially licensed drone pilot.

    We film & take photos and set up gaming & audio visual equipment at teen library events. We also assist with the library’s teen facebook page, help create flyers, and create skits for promotional library videos. Snacks are always provided.
    We meet twice a month on Mondays in the library meeting room from 3:30 – 4:45. New members are always welcome.

  • Birds of Prey

    Northern Illinois Raptor Rehab and Education Center presents a live bird educational program at the Peru Public Library. The center is bringing 10 live birds of prey to the library including owls and hawks. Learn about raptors, their homes and the important role raptors play in our environment.The program is one hour with time to visit the displays after the program.
