The Peru Public Library District Board of Trustee accepts applications to fill vacant trustee seats. Submitted trustee applications are kept until a vacancy occurs.
A Trustee candidate is someone who enthusiastically assists with policy development, financial management, advocacy, local partnerships. Once elected by library voters, Peru library board members serve a 6-year term.
The meeting schedule: The Board meets the second Thursday of each month, except December, from 6pm until board business is completed. The meetings tend to end at 7:30pm.
Library Committees: The Board President appoints ad hoc committees with a specific task and completion date.
Library trustee’s role: These websites provide an overview of the role a library trustee has in their public library.
Requirements: By law, a library district trustee resides within the library’s service area for at least a year prior to appointment and/or election and is a registered voter.
