The library has resumed in-person programming while some programming remains available virtually, too. Our book clubs will soon transition to in-person gatherings only.
The youth service department provides programming for ages birth through age 12 (roughly 6th grade). Regular programs include the weekly Wiggles & Giggles, semi-monthly Doggie Tales, Brick Builder’s Cub, and special events. Self-directed activities are available for kids to enjoy while visiting the library. Bounces and Tickles, a class for infants and caregivers as well as Little Tykes Story Time remain on Hiatus. Check back with us for updates.
The library has a strong teen program with the monthly Teen Game Night drawing 40-50 teenagers each month. There is also the monthly Teens Talk Books, Teen Writer’s Club, and Anime Manga Club. Special events include the annual Animicon and SciFi Fantasy Night, along with the Teen Tech and Teen Read Weeks.
Adult programs include two monthly book clubs, Adult Book Club and 20&30 Somethin. In addition, our Color Me Calm group meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays and the weekly Peruvian Purlers meet on Saturday mornings. We also have evening programs. Some of our past programs include Retirement Investing, Nellie Bly, Victorian Medicine, and Abraham Lincoln. During Tax Season, the library has hosted AARP Tax Service for area residents needing assistance filing their taxes. Since 2020 this service has been on hiatus. Check back with the library in early 2023 for an update.
Library programs are free. For planning purposes, registration is required for youth programs, but not required for most adult and teen programs.
