Due to COVID-19 concerns, the library’s in-person programs are on hiatus until Fall 2021. Our many of our adult programs and book clubs are available via Zoom.
One way we encourage reading for all ages is our Reading Challenges. Participants win prizes through reading and activity challenges.
The youth service department provides programming for ages birth through age 12 (roughly 6th grade). Regular programs include the weekly Wiggles & Giggles, Bounces & Tickles, Little Tykes, and semi-monthly Doggie Tales. Other popular programs include Nail Art and Cupcake Decorating.
The library has a strong teen program with the monthly Teen Game Night drawing 40-50 teenagers each month. There is also the monthly Teens Talk Books, Teen Writer’s Club, and Anime Manga Club. Special events include the annual Animicon and SciFi Fantasy Night, along with the Teen Tech and Teen Read Weeks.
Adult programs include two monthly book clubs, Adult Book Club and 20&30 Something, our Color Me Calm group meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays, the weekly Peruvian Purlers (meets on Saturday mornings). We also have evening programs, Retirement Investing, Nellie Bly, Victorian Medicine, and Abraham Lincoln are a sample of past programs. During Tax Season, the library hosts AARP Tax Service for area residents needing assistance filing their taxes.
